Welcome To Tampa Bay Advertising Federation

Achievements

The Tampa Bay Advertising Federation exists to support its members, the community and the advertising industry.  Its mission is to promote fellowship, education and career enhancement among members of the advertising community

TBAF members have generously supported our scholarship fund over the years.  In 2007, our largest scholarship yet was presented to a University of Tampa marketing major with a 3.8 GPA.  Our monthly meetings feature speakers intended to educate and entertain attendees as well as provide networking opportunities.

Foster and recognize excellence in advertising

What else but the ADDYs?  The annual ADDY Awards Gala is eagerly anticipated by ad pros throughout the Bay area – and this isn’t just hyperbole.  Entries have grown every year since 2002 and attendance at the Gala continues at a steady pace.  We also hold a pre-gala Gallery Night, another opportunity to mingle and eye the competition’s work.  In addition, the club itself has won

  • Local silver ADDYs for America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay Public service Campaign
  • District silver ADDY for "Dinnertime" - a 60 Second Public Service Campaign Commercial
  • Local and district ADDYs for our printed newsletter
  • We’ve also received district and national recognition:
  • 2006 - club achievement, second nationally for promoting Diversity within the club
  • 2006 - District Club of the Year

Champion public service causes

Every year TBAF members show their generosity by donating creative time, printing, media space and whatever they can to help the community.  Organizations we’ve adopted for a campaign include:

  • SPCA of Tampa and the Pinellas County Humane Society in a campaign that raised awareness of the link between animal cruelty and violence in the family;
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters in a plea to make a difference – Be a Big.
  • Keep Arts in School – a 4th District campaign in which volunteers taught two simple art classes in schools in which the children created tiles that formed a map of Florida with the words “Keep Art in School”.  The maps were presented at a press conference in Tallahassee.
  • America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay in a multi-media campaign intended to encourage viewers to donate to the food bank.
  • Habitat for Humanity in a re-branding and awareness campaign to hype the grand opening of their retail store.
  • Internet child safety in Conjunction with the Hillsboro County Library system.

Build an understanding of the role and benefits of advertising at all levels; and encourage advertising self-regulation and continuous improvement to raise industry benchmarks

The volunteers who serve on the board of the TBAF work continuously to ensure that the highest standards are maintained for the club.  We support legislative efforts through district contributions to keep the advertising industry needs in front of the Florida legislature and participate in the legislative fly-in held every year in Tallahassee.
